Sudie, Georgia is a tiny unincorporated residential area located less than five miles south of the larger town of Dallas. Scattered across the crossroads of Georgia State Routes 120 (Hiram Sudie Highway) and 61 (Villa Rica Highway), Sudie lies in the heart of southern Paulding County, an easily commutable distance at less than 35 miles west from Atlanta. The region, like much of Paulding County, is heavily wooded.
Meal choices for hungry visitors checking out Sudie include the fast food chains McDonalds and Domino’s Pizza. For a taste of the South’s signature meal, Merle’s Bar-B-Q on Villa Rica Highway has had good Yelp reviews. There’s a Quality Chef, a Chinese restaurant, tucked away in the Sudie Crossing Shopping Center. The Shopping Center is also home to an O’Reilly Auto Parts, a Family Dollar, and the Food Depot grocery store. The town also features a gas station and several smaller service businesses.
There are numerous religious houses of worship in and around town. They include the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Bethany Christian Church, Reliant Ministries, and the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Further afield are the Macedonia Church, PumpkinVine Baptist Church, and Nebo Baptist Church.
For those wanderers looking for recreation, White Oak Park is situated between Sudie and Dallas, though it is much closer to Sudie. With its three lakes, sport courts, disc golf, and several picnic pavilions, the park the ideal place for a relaxing outing. Golf lovers may wish to try their luck as a guest at Creekside Golf and Country Club, founded in 1999 near Hiram. With two unique nine hole layouts, members can join by selecting from four different sign-up options. The club can also host weddings and banquets, and offers a bar and grill for drinks and refreshment.
