History of Dallas GA

Dallas is located in the Atlanta metro area of central Paulding County. It is a county seat of Paulding County and is located about 30 miles northwest of Atlanta. Dallas was incorporated on February 8, 1854. The city was called under the reign of George M. Dallas of Pennsylvania, by the late Vice President James K. Polk. The City of Dallas has kept the arts at a simpler time, with a vibrant community in the heart of the city, secure in the hospitality of the south. With the historic and central picturesque town, visitors can enjoy shopping and entertainment at the renovated Dallas Theater. Our city has the best civilian warehouse code in the county. 1 OAK Roofing is proud to offer their service of roof repair to the Dallas area.
When the Georgia General Assembly to establish Polk County in 1852 took over western Paulding County, it came down with the first seat in the district, Van Wert. Legislators have built part from west Cobb County to create the new Paulding County district, and the need for a new city to be made is a watchdog. The location chosen is very close to the geographical center of the region, a place where ancient Americans lived in conflict. He lived on the ridge and had many springs nearby, which provided good and quality water. Dallas was virtually unknown until it was discovered, and its surroundings were the site of numerous episodes during the Atlanta campaign of the American Civil War. In late May and early June 1864, three battles were fought in Dallas and environs. The City of Dallas purchased 175+ acres of land that was part of the Dallas War on May 28, 1864. The Dallas Battlefield Park at the Scott Smith Preserve was designed to protect property regional and regional history for future generations.
