Cartersville has a plethora of museums that you can visit, bringing history to life in front of your eyes. With most of these museums being located downtown in a vibrant shopping center, any of these make for a perfect day out with friends or family.

Tellus Science Museum

This museum is equipped with a digital Planetarium that exhibits different shows throughout the day. Here you can also find a 40 foot T-Rex fossil, accompanied by various other dinosaurs and fossilized flora. Other exhibits on display are the Collins Family Big Back Yard which has hands on science experiences, and the Science of Motion exhibit relating to the major developments in science and technology of automobiles, aircraft, and space travel. Rose Lawn Museum

Previously a home to renowned evangelist Samuel Porter Jones, this restored Victorian mansion houses writings and memorabilia of Sam Jones and Rebecca Latimer Felton. Displayed here is a dress that inspired Scarlett’s from Gone With The Wind, and is furnished with collections by members of the Etowah Valley Historical Society. The recommended time to visit is in September for the Annual Arts Festival at Rose Lawn, which is an arts and crafts festival that began in 1975, or in May for the May Market at Rose Lawn when all the roses are in bloom.
